Diploma in Clear Aligner Therapy

This clear-aligner diploma is delivered by SAFE Ortho Training through Aligner Dental Academy, recognised by the City of London Dental School and validated by the University of Greater Manchester. The 12-month blended programme is aimed at general dentists integrating aligner treatment with aesthetic, periodontal and restorative care.

Three-term structure

• Term one: adult orthodontic foundations and treatment planning, including anatomy, malocclusion classification, assessment, diagnostic imagery and tooth-movement biomechanics.
• Term two: aligner theory and clinical application, covering appliance materials and components, protocols for different malocclusions and computer-assisted planning.
• Term three: prepare clinical case presentations with tutor support and assemble the case portfolio.

Clinical mentoring and assessment

Mentoring follows assessment, diagnosis, planning, active treatment, finishing and retention. Support includes an online forum, a private cohort WhatsApp group, small-group clinical mentoring and coaching with a dental leadership coach. Forum access is available around the clock; confirm tutor response arrangements.

Assessment includes clinical multiple-choice and short-answer papers and documentation of five completed cases. Confirm case eligibility, deadlines and all award requirements before joining.
