Anterior Composite Bonding: Bioclear (Dominic Hassall Training Institute)

This two-day Dominic Hassall Training Institute course introduces anterior Bioclear techniques through teaching and exercises on soft-tissue models. Claire Burgess covers additive restoration of spaces, black triangles, fractured incisors and undersized teeth.

Anterior practical exercises

Soft-tissue models are used for deep Class III cavities, straightforward and complex black-triangle closure with root overlays, peg laterals, diastemas, fractured incisors and canine-to-canine direct veneers. Planning considers individual tooth form and the wider smile and arch.

Materials and methods

Training includes infinity-edge margins, Bioclear tooth-specific and black-triangle matrices, heated-composite injection moulding, and contact adjustment with TruContact saws and sanders. Surface preparation uses blasting equipment; finishing uses Magic Mix and the Rock Star two-stage polishing system. HeatSync heaters and the different matrix options are used in the practical work.
