Cosmetic Dentistry and Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry Year Course (Christopher Orr)

Advanced Dental Seminars combines practical teaching with online revision webinars. Topics progress from assessment and everyday restorative work to tooth wear and more complex interdisciplinary cases.

Six 2026/27 groups are listed and currently sold out. Enquiries are open for the 2027/28 waiting list. The complete 12-session fee is GBP 9,600 plus VAT, calculated from the published GBP 800 plus VAT per session. The initial payment is part of that total.

This course awards a completion certificate and CPD. Advanced Dental Seminars' Level 7 postgraduate diploma is a separate follow-on programme.

The sessions form one sequential programme and are not independently bookable.

The twelve-session curriculum

1. Smile analysis, digital design and occlusal foundations, with design exercises and appraisal of clinical evidence.
2. Consultations, diagnostic records, consent, fees and photography, including taking and reviewing images with fellow delegates.
3. Conservative aesthetics: adhesion, whitening, microabrasion, resin infiltration and the role of orthodontics.
4. Single anterior restorations: shade mapping, ceramic choice, guided veneer preparation, impressions and chairside temporaries.
5. Posterior restorations: caries decisions, layered and bulk-fill composite, posts, cores, onlays and restoration of root-filled teeth.
6. Anterior resin: colour mapping, Class IVs, diastemas, peg laterals, internal effects, texturing and polishing.
7. Complex veneer cases: spacing, recession, discoloured substrates and preparation choices across ceramic materials.
8. Specialist interfaces: periodontal and orthodontic assessment, soft-tissue aesthetics and digital planning for team communication.
9. Wear and function: Dahl approaches, bruxism, vertical dimension, TMD assessment, facebows and leaf-gauge exercises.
10. Replacing teeth: bridge designs, implant workflows, pontic and soft-tissue management, dentures and attachment options.
11. Comprehensive rehabilitation: sequencing, provisionalisation, interdisciplinary communication, patient decisions and fees.
12. Maintenance, repairs and failure management, with treatment-planning exercises and optional case presentations.

Attendance and support

Sessions run from 9:15am to approximately 5pm at 11a Bell Yard Mews, Bermondsey Street, London SE1 3TN. Each is followed by an online recap. Lunch and refreshments are supplied. There is no live-patient treatment or formal final examination; the attendance certificate requires at least ten sessions.

The initial GBP 960 payment is followed by six GBP 1,760 direct debits, all including VAT. Up to two missed sessions may be carried into the next year if the same sessions run again; missed sessions remain payable.
