Overview
About this course
This Dental Sedation Courses pathway is for dentists, therapists and hygienists starting inhalation sedation. The course describes STAC-accredited online theory, followed by supervised clinical experience, reflection and final review. Online teaching alone does not complete the pathway to independent practice.
Learning and clinical progression
- Work through videos, demonstrations, lectures, quizzes, downloadable material, MCQs and a practice assessment.
- Receive a sedation logbook and recommended textbook.
- Complete and document ten supervised inhalation cases with an approved supervisor, either at a mentor centre or through an agreed practice arrangement.
- Submit the required case study, evaluation, feedback and competency evidence for final review.
One dental-nurse theory and certification place is included with each practitioner registration. The team offers logbook guidance and ongoing support, with resource access for two years. Nurse attendance at mentoring clinics costs extra.
Costs and unresolved details
Online training is £549 upfront or six £99 payments (£594 total). The stated centre-based supervised-case fees are £2,250 for practitioners and £950 for nurses. VAT treatment, local mentoring costs and case availability need confirmation.
The page gives conflicting online CPD figures: 14 hours in its inclusions and 12 hours in its theory steps. Confirm the certificate allocation. Any mentoring CPD is additional and dependent on attendance; it is not included as a combined total here.
