Overview
About this course
Sage Academy offers the supervised practical stage of sedation training. Dentists can choose intravenous sedation, inhalation sedation or both; qualified dental nurses can also attend. Theory and Immediate Life Support training must be completed beforehand.
Clinical pathways
- Intravenous pathway: 20 supervised cases, covering sedation care from induction to discharge and the relationship between sedation and dental treatment.
- Inhalation pathway: 10 supervised cases, developing assessment, monitoring and delivery of care.
- Combined pathway: the two sets of clinical experience, with individual progression assessed by the supervising team.
The programme supplies technique-specific logbooks, DOPS forms, practice checklists and submission guidance. Clinical experience, reflection and assessments support the final training sign-off; attendance alone is not a substitute for demonstrated competence.
Fees and scheduling
The dentist pathways are £1,800 for inhalation and £2,800 for intravenous mentorship, or £4,600 for both. Independent dental-nurse attendance is £1,100. Check VAT, clinical dates and any additional cases required. Instalment arrangements are available by enquiry.
The page describes the allocation between assisted and operator cases differently in two sections. Confirm your individual case requirements with the trainers before booking. The advertised four-day duration should also be confirmed against your case availability and progress. Dental CPD hours are not specified.
