About this course
BCDIS offers an implant diploma covering patient assessment, digital planning, implant placement, restoration and follow-up. Teaching combines online learning, practical sessions and clinical mentoring at the Dental Implant Centre in Twyford.
The October 2026 intake runs through May 2028 across 12 modules. The full programme offers 480 verifiable CPD hours. The published fee is GBP 20,000 including the examination fee, with a GBP 1,000 deposit forming part of that total. Confirm VAT treatment and application acceptance with BCDIS.
BCDIS identifies the award as the EduQual Diploma in Implant Dentistry at SCQF Level 11. Its separate university master's route is not included.
Clinical cases depend on patient suitability; substitute model, animal-tissue or digital exercises may be used. Bring a Windows laptop with Blue Sky Plan, loupes and scrubs. The October 2026 cohort is full; applications are invited for 2027.

- CBCT Levels 1 and 2, digital planning and preparation for surgery.
- Supervised placement and assessment of early healing.
- Restorative records, design and delivery of straightforward implant crowns.
- Ridge preservation, bone defects and guided regeneration.
- Complications, peri-implant disease and escalation decisions.
- Posterior maxillary options and principles of sinus augmentation.
- Placement timing, loading and tissue management.
- Definitive prosthodontics, aesthetics and continuing maintenance.
- Full-arch treatment workflows, advanced options and referral limits.
- Clinical consolidation, portfolio completion and examination preparation.
- Final assessment of knowledge, judgement and practical competence.
Supervised placement starts in module three after readiness assessment and case approval through ImplantCheck. Examination cases must be complete by module eleven. Routine modules run Friday–Saturday; the final examination block runs Friday–Sunday.
