Overview
About this course
Adam Nulty and Quintus Van Tonder lead IDDA’s digital restorative diploma for dentists integrating digital tools into established clinical practice.
Six-module curriculum
- Restorative foundations: proportions, minimally invasive approaches, the digital patient journey, conformative versus rehabilitative treatment and occlusion.
- Planning and mock-ups: facially driven design, photography, orthodontic pre-alignment, printed mock-ups, dynamic occlusion and consent.
- Preparation and temporisation: CAD/CAM requirements, gingival profiles, digitally planned composites, implant integration and guided endodontic concepts.
- Aesthetic CAD design: anterior/posterior form and multiple-restoration design in Cerec/Inlab and Exocad.
- Manufacture and materials: CAM and permanent-printing materials, indication-based selection, laboratory communication and implant-abutment options.
- Finishing: surface texture, composite, lithium disilicate and zirconia finishing, staining, glazing, pre-bonding treatment and documentation.
Study is flexible, with an intended completion period of 18 months to three years. Online videos, readings, clinical examples, quizzes and written assignments support learning. The qualification requires completion of the programme’s learning and assessment requirements. The IDDA app supports offline video access, and a learning community provides continuing discussion and guidance.
The published equipment requirements include an intraoral scanner, a laptop with at least 32 GB RAM and GeForce 3070-class graphics or better, a 3D printer and Exocad. Desktop Health or Ackuretta printers are suggested. Confirm which licences, equipment and any practical attendance costs are included before enrolling.
The upfront fee is £7,995. Alternatives are £3,000 followed by 36 payments of £185 (£9,660 total), or 36 payments of £275 (£9,900 total). Confirm VAT treatment and any equipment/software or practical-session charges.
The page specifies 120 AGD PACE continuing-education credits and states that enhanced CPD is awarded for completed modules and topics. Confirm the UK enhanced-CPD total and certificate requirements.
