Overview

About this course

Cephtactics Dental’s postgraduate orthodontic programme combines in-person teaching, practical exercises, online learning and case mentoring for general dentists. The next dated timetable begins on 30 January 2027 in Canary Wharf.

Learning and practical work

  • Diagnosis, treatment planning and clinical decision-making for fixed, removable and aligner appliances.
  • Cephalometric tracing, space analysis, typodont work and case assessment.
  • Attachments, bonding exercises, retainers and temporary anchorage concepts.
  • Additional masterclasses in photography, wire bending, aligner biomechanics and interceptive orthodontics.
  • Monthly webinars, online forums and the opportunity to bring clinical cases for discussion.

Assessment

  • Practical tasks in tracing, space analysis, bonding, Class I/II/III cases and fixed-retainer placement, plus an orthodontic spotter assessment.
  • Two online multiple-choice assessments, a diagnosis/treatment-planning document and feedback requirements after the course.

The upfront fee is £8,495, described as including VAT on the course page. The 2027 brochure gives a three-instalment total of £8,995 or twelve payments of £791.25, totalling £9,495. Confirm the payment plan’s tax and finance terms. Teaching is listed at Marriott Canary Wharf. Eleven dates are published, with the photography day still to be confirmed. The page carries an old August 2026 cohort label above the January–December 2027 dates; confirm the final timetable. It also refers to both 600 hours of content and over 160 hours of online lectures/resources. These are not treated as a verified CPD total; the 2027 brochure identifies an EduQual Level 7 award, while enhanced CPD hours still need confirmation.

Included practical courses and support

  • Aligner biomechanics: attachments, movement planning, simulations and advanced mechanics.
  • Photography: camera settings, exposure, lenses, flash and intraoral/extraoral records.
  • Wire bending: arch forms, loops, torque and uprighting.
  • Interceptive orthodontics: mixed dentition, timing, space management and functional appliances.

All four practical courses are included in the 2027 programme. Learning support includes a cohort WhatsApp community, alumni network, monthly case sessions, a learning portal and individual guidance under the programme’s arrangements. COCAD case-submission eligibility and fees require confirmation. A further diploma pathway is in development and is not included as a currently available qualification.
