Overview

About this course

Freshdental Institute’s Totally Aesthetics combines 17 face-to-face teaching days with an online learning programme advertised as 300 hours. It leads to an EduQual-certified Level 7 postgraduate diploma in restorative and aesthetic dentistry, subject to completing its requirements. Online learning time is not entered as a CPD total.

Planning, records and foundations

Study examination, communication, fees and practice presentation; clinical photography, camera settings and image management; smile design, morphology, wax-ups and laboratory communication; and vital and non-vital whitening, including dark teeth and sensitivity.

Occlusion, periodontics and alignment

Occlusal teaching covers centric relation, conformative and reorganised approaches, facebows, articulation, tooth wear, the Dahl concept, vertical dimension and splints. Periodontal teaching addresses classification, recession, root coverage, crown lengthening, digital assessment and maintenance. Orthodontic sessions cover assessment, referral, appliances, scanning, Invisalign Go, IPR, retention, consent and complications.

Direct and indirect restoration

Composite teaching includes guided anterior and posterior techniques, wax-ups and mock-ups, matrices, isolation, deep-margin elevation, adjacent restorations, cuspal reconstruction and Class V work. Advanced anterior teaching develops layering, cut-back techniques, masking, hypoplasia and full-arch planning.

Onlay, veneer and crown modules examine material selection, preparation, impressions and scanning, CAD/CAM, shade communication, temporaries and bonding. Topics include Gurel veneer preparation, soft-tissue management, dark substrates, immediate dentine sealing and ceramic design.

Endodontics, implants and multidisciplinary cases

Endodontic sessions cover diagnosis, access, shaping, irrigation, obturation and restoration of treated teeth. Implant teaching addresses imaging, timing, soft tissues, provisional and single-unit restoration and maintenance. Bridge design includes abutment selection, fixed and cantilever designs, adhesive and fibre-reinforced options, pontics and occlusion. The programme closes the planning loop through functional trials and direct or indirect rehabilitation.

Eligibility and arrangements

Applicants must be qualified, registered dentists who have completed Totally Composite. Course-day preparation and equipment instructions are sent ahead of attendance. Confirm assessment, certification charges and the current total tuition fee rather than relying on an earlier cohort’s price.
