Overview
About this course
Freshdental Institute’s two-day foundation course is designed for qualified, GDC-registered dentists and dental therapists. Previous composite-bonding experience is not required, and several material brands are available for practical work.
Materials, planning and isolation
Compare contemporary materials, preparation choices, substrates and shade systems. Teaching covers treatment planning, patient communication and fees, followed by adhesion, anterior and posterior isolation, sectional matrices and creating contact points.
Anterior and posterior techniques
Study single-layer and multilayer approaches, natural layering, guided composite, partial-coverage restorations, direct veneers, diastema closure and the use of stains and tints. Posterior teaching covers layering, bulk-fill materials and managing restoration failures, with finishing, polishing and laboratory communication throughout.
Practical exercises
Exercises include isolation, a layered Class IV incisor, a direct veneer, diastema closure, a Class II molar and finishing. Loupes are recommended if you own them, but are not essential.
Dates and booking
The course remains advertised, but its linked ticket page showed no current events when checked on 26 October 2026. Course-page availability labels also conflict. Confirm an accepted place and the complete timetable directly before making arrangements; the dates below are advertised dates, not confirmation that booking is open.
The page advertises Manchester from 5 November 2026. The second attendance date and exact venue need confirmation. London pricing is listed as £1,495.83 excluding VAT and other locations as £1,579.17 excluding VAT, approximately £1,795 and £1,895 respectively at 20% VAT. Confirm the final invoice and applicable location. CPD hours are not specified clearly.
Totally Composite is the required foundation before Totally Aesthetics and the institute’s advanced composite pathways; those are separate bookings.
