Diploma in Periodontics for Dentists

Dr Reena Wadia leads Perio School’s EduQual Level 7 diploma for qualified dentists at any career stage. The January 2027 cohort meets on eleven Mondays in London, in a group of no more than twelve. Successful completion provides 120 CPD hours and a 120-credit qualification; the credit and CPD figures are separate measures.

Five curriculum units

• The periodontal journey: diagnosis, treatment planning and practical non-surgical treatment.
• Multidisciplinary management, integrating periodontal care with other dental disciplines.
• Pocket reduction: resective and regenerative surgery.
• Aesthetic and restorative crown lengthening.
• Gingival recession: grafting and surgical management.

Practical sessions use models and pig heads for non-surgical care, pocket reduction, recession surgery and crown lengthening. Live patient demonstrations or patient-simulation videos supplement this work. Delegates implement learning in their own practice and maintain a reflective logbook; the programme does not promise that delegates operate on live patients at every session.

Assessment and support

• A timed essay, 50-question MCQ assessment, case presentation/viva and reflective logbook, with four logbook entries expected each month.
• Around two hours of independent study weekly, alongside clinical implementation.
• One-to-one guidance from Reena Wadia, monthly sessions, WhatsApp support and access to articles, videos, templates and checklists.
• A workbook, practical equipment use, lunch and refreshments are included. Access to the Perio School Club continues after completion.

Sessions normally run from 09:00 to 16:30 or 17:00. Attendance is expected throughout; a livestream or recording can be arranged for one missed session. The upfront fee is £10,200 plus VAT, totalling £12,240. Alternative plans cost four payments of £2,600 plus VAT (£12,480 total) or twelve payments of £900 plus VAT (£12,960 total). Award release requires successful completion and completed payments. A separate accelerated MSc progression route is available through another training partnership and is not included in this fee.
