Overview

About this course

Tipton Training’s Periodontology programme develops periodontal diagnosis, treatment planning and management. Six online modules are supplemented by four face-to-face practical days to apply the theory, with 119 enhanced CPD hours.

Six subject areas

  • Periodontal anatomy and biology, disease causes and classification, screening and diagnostic tools.
  • Patient motivation, behavioural change, instrumentation, adjunctive therapies and supportive periodontal maintenance.
  • Surgical indications and planning, resective approaches, open-flap debridement, pocket reduction and postoperative care.
  • Recession and root coverage, crown lengthening, gummy-smile assessment and aesthetic soft-tissue management.
  • Diagnosis and management of peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis, implant maintenance and surrounding soft tissues.
  • Occlusion and worn dentitions, splint therapy, jaw records, facebow use and occlusal analysis.

Learning combines recorded lectures, clinical demonstrations, reading, case discussion and webinars. Module assessments reinforce the material, while monthly live study clubs provide access to faculty, clinical discussion and peer learning. Level 7 and non-Level 7 study options are advertised; confirm the assessment route and award before enrolment.

The advertised Manchester intake starts in October 2026. Check current joining availability and the dates of the practical days. The fee is £6,900 plus £525 mandatory registration, both including VAT, totalling £7,425.

Learning is supported by tutor mentoring and an online library of papers, webinars, tutorials and case discussions. Support outside scheduled teaching sessions is available for clinical questions.
