SplintCourse: Bruxism, TMD and Occlusal Appliances

Jaz Gulati's SplintCourse is a structured online programme for dentists assessing bruxism and temporomandibular disorders and providing occlusal appliances. It is suitable for different experience levels, with familiarity in basic occlusal examination helpful but no formal prerequisite course required.

Clinical foundations and appliances

Ten bite-sized modules start with anatomy, diagnosis and examination before moving to appliance selection. Teaching considers muscular pain, the effects of bruxism, protective and pre-restorative splints, and the differences between appliance designs. Clinical videos demonstrate muscle palpation, insertion, adjustment and troubleshooting, including how to adjust soft splints.

Patient communication and explaining the value of orthotic treatment are included. Learners are encouraged to develop and discuss their own diagnoses and management plans rather than rely on case-by-case instructions.

Access, support and CPD

Standalone access is advertised at £919 for 24 months, with VAT treatment unspecified. Videos can be revisited as cases arise, and an exclusive community supports questions and case discussion. Audio access is also available.

The course lists 12-plus hours of verifiable CPD, or 13 hours including bonus content. Confirm certificate requirements and how additional webinars are counted. A separate Ultimate membership also includes access, with its own price, renewal and access terms.
