Practical Endodontics: Two-Day Hands-on Programme

Dr Ali Mubarak leads this two-day Sage Academy programme for clinicians developing their endodontic skills. Theory is followed by supervised practice on models and extracted teeth. The advertised fee is £799, with lunch and refreshments included; VAT treatment needs confirmation. The programme lists 14 verifiable CPD hours.

Day one: assessment, isolation and access

• Review pulp physiology, diagnosis, pain and case complexity, including restorability and anatomical variations.
• Plan infection control and rubber dam isolation.
• Understand canal anatomy, conservative access design and working-length measurement with apex locators.
• Review chemo-mechanical preparation and irrigation principles.
• Practise rubber dam placement and access cavity preparation on models or extracted teeth.

Day two: completing treatment

• Create a glide path and shape canals using hand, rotary and reciprocating instruments while avoiding ledges and perforations.
• Review irrigation methods with a disinfection demonstration.
• Practise cold lateral and warm vertical obturation using gutta-percha.
• Work through emergency pain and postoperative scenarios.
• Use magnification, including microscope practice for access and shaping.
