Overview

About this course

Sectioning School is Protrusive Guidance's online course on tooth sectioning and elevation for general dental practitioners. An introductory webinar explains sectioning patterns, instrument choice, fulcrum positioning and controlled force, followed by six clinical case demonstrations.

Case-based teaching

  • Separating and removing upper molar roots.
  • A lower molar with extensive caries and subgingival breakdown.
  • A lower molar with a vertical root fracture.
  • A sequence involving several upper molars.
  • An upper molar with a severely curved mesiobuccal root.
  • A distoangular wisdom tooth, from access to closure.

The course examines when to section rather than elevate a tooth intact, how to manage difficult root anatomy and ways to minimise root fractures and bone loss. The published format provides clinical videos and online teaching; it does not include a supervised live-patient training day.

Standalone purchase and Ultimate membership access are available, with immediate access and updates advertised. Check the fee, VAT, CPD and access period. Apply the learning within your own competence and referral arrangements.
