Overview
About this course
Dental Iceberg brings Prof. Puria Parvini to London for two days of sinus augmentation teaching on 4–5 December 2026. Lectures, demonstrations and supervised exercises use eggs, models and sheep heads. The programme runs 09:00–17:00, offers 14 verifiable CPD hours and costs £1,550 including VAT.
Assessment and surgical approaches
Review sinus anatomy, CBCT assessment, contraindications and flap design. The practical syllabus compares crestal elevation and bone splitting, lateral windows using different instruments, palatal access and hydrodynamic piezosurgery. It includes membrane elevation, graft selection, implant-site preparation with limited residual bone, combined lateral augmentation and graft-free approaches.
Complication planning and management
Discuss anatomical variations, septa, arterial bleeding, cysts, polyps, mucoceles, previous ENT treatment and acute, chronic or fungal sinusitis. Intraoperative scenarios include membrane perforation and repair, dislocation, foreign-body aspiration or ingestion and ostium obstruction. Postoperative topics cover pain, graft infection, persistent sinusitis and delayed implant migration.
Hands-on work and follow-up
Egg exercises develop membrane-handling control before simulated procedures on models and sheep heads, using piezosurgery equipment and surgical motors. Participants practise lateral-window preparation, membrane elevation, graft and barrier placement, stabilisation and closure. This is specimen-based training, not patient treatment.
A dedicated WhatsApp group provides subsequent case discussion with Prof. Parvini and other delegates. Confirm any equipment to bring and catering details. Hotel parking costs extra.
