Overview
About this course
The Oral Surgery Course is accepting pre-release registration for a programme planned from May 2027 to May 2029, led by Chris Waith and Neil Patel. It is suitable for dentists across different experience levels.
The website still describes the PGDip as awaiting accreditation. Confirm the awarding arrangements and qualification status before committing; it is not presented here as an already accredited diploma or a route conferring specialist status.
Year 1
The outline includes 50 hours of online learning, six hands-on or classroom days totalling 42 hours, three supervised patient-treatment days totalling 21 hours, approximately 50 hours of reading and audit or research project work.
Year 2
The second year lists 50 online hours, nine hands-on or classroom days totalling 54 hours, three patient-treatment days totalling 21 hours, approximately 50 hours of reading and further project work.
Learning format and venues
The syllabus follows primary-care oral surgery commissioning topics and adds implant foundations, sedation and CBCT training. It combines video lectures, animal-head and custom-model exercises, reflection, online classrooms, guided reading, cadaver sessions and supervised treatment. Named venues include MANDEC, Malmaison Manchester and the West Midlands Surgical Training Centre.
Fees and booking
The stated total is £25,296: £11,999 tuition per year plus a £649 payment at registration and another at the start of year two. Quarterly tuition payments are £2,999.75. The booking page’s £649 figure is a deposit, not total tuition. VAT and additional clinical or assessment costs require confirmation.
The page advertises 360 CPD hours. Confirm attendance, assessment and certificate conditions, the complete timetable and final accreditation status. Registration is pre-release and does not establish an unconditional final programme.
