Overview
About this course
Practical Implantology’s EduQual SCQF Level 11 certificate combines UK teaching with a compulsory clinical module in Cairo. Mukesh Soni, Sam Mohamed and Azhar Sheikh teach the programme directly. It welcomes qualified dentists without previous implant experience and offers 120 verifiable CPD hours, subject to completion and the final course allocation.
Four modules
- Foundation: implant anatomy and components, clinical photography, model placement and impression taking.
- Digital: CBCT assessment, implant planning, design platforms and guided surgery. The required online CBCT Level 1 course is included.
- Surgical and restorative development: guided bone regeneration, suturing, soft tissue, implant exposure, occlusion, biomaterials, peri-implant disease, medicolegal issues and fitting a restoration.
- Cairo clinical training: a minimum of seven supervised implant placements, with assisting and observation. Faculty select and discuss cases and later arrange restoration. Completion of the first three modules is required before clinical sign-off.
The March 2027 cohort has UK blocks on 17–20 March, 14–17 April and 5–8 May. Its Cairo stay is either 5–12 June or 12–19 June, with the corresponding clinical days 7–10 or 14–17 June. The September cohort has UK blocks on 8–11 September, 29 September–2 October and 13–16 October, followed by a Cairo stay on either 6–13 or 13–20 November. Confirm your allocated surgical group. The page’s generic day-count labels differ from its detailed dates, so use the confirmed cohort timetable for travel planning.
Inclusions and preparation
- A surgical instrument kit, biomaterial samples, suturing pad, online lectures and the CBCT course.
- Lunch and refreshments on teaching days, shared twin-room bed-and-breakfast accommodation and airport/clinic transfers in Cairo.
