Management of Tooth Loss: Immediate Implants versus Socket Preservation

ICE’s programme compares immediate implant treatment with socket and ridge preservation. It suits both newer and experienced implant dentists and combines preparatory webinars with a two-day practical workshop and live surgical observation. The brochure describes approximately 30 CPD hours.

Preparatory teaching

• Minimally traumatic extraction and socket-management decisions.
• Immediate placement and single-tooth loading, primary stability and restorative planning.
• Biomaterials, synthetic grafts, platelet concentrates and bioenhancement.
• Human factors, consent, digital planning and prosthetic workflows.

Practical and observation elements

• Observe extraction/socket augmentation and immediate implant/restoration demonstrations.
• Practise periotome and piezo extraction approaches on pig heads and plastic models.
• Work through ridge preservation, immediate implant placement, connective-tissue harvesting, recipient-site management and suturing.
• Observe a PRF demonstration; individual observation opportunities may be arranged.
