The LUX8 Extraction Course is an immersive two-day oral surgery masterclass designed for general dentists looking to develop greater confidence, predictability and precision in routine and surgical extractions.
Led by specialist oral surgeon Dr Yusuf Gadiwalla, the course combines evidence-based principles with practical, immediately applicable surgical techniques.
Delegates will explore the physics of instrumentation, radiographic interpretation, surgical planning, atraumatic extraction techniques, tooth-specific approaches, flap design, tooth sectioning, bone removal, suturing and the prevention and management of complications. The course also introduces the principles of managing straightforward impacted wisdom teeth.
With small-group teaching, extensive hands-on practical surgery using pig's heads and 14 hours of verifiable CPD, LUX8 is designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and confident clinical practice.

Understand the management of complications arising from persistent or inadequately managed OAC
Recognise and manage maxillary tuberosity fractures
Assess and manage uncontrolled or prolonged post-operative bleeding
Recognise the signs and symptoms of post-operative infection and understand appropriate management strategies
Diagnose and manage alveolar osteitis (dry socket)
Assess and manage delayed or non-healing extraction sockets
Recognise and manage common post-operative complications following dental extraction
Understand the principles of managing impacted teeth, including straightforward wisdom tooth surgery
Recognise when a complication or clinical situation requires escalation, referral or specialist management
Develop greater confidence, efficiency and clinical decision-making when undertaking oral surgery in general dental practice
